Children's Podiatry

Between birth & a child's 1st independent steps, the bones in the feet & legs undergo enormous developmental changes. During the 1st year of a child's life their feet grow rapidly, reaching almost half their adult size. Feet & legs continue to develop until a child's mid teems.

Podiatrists can help assess children's gait and detect any abnormalities associated with their grown. Eg: In-toeing, out-toeing, overlapping toes, excessively tripping over & more.

Footwear assessment is also another area that we can provide advice on. To ensure healthy development takes place, feet need room to grow.

Tight footwear, socks/stockings including ticked-in bedclothes can have an impact on the growing foot. If you are unsure about your child's walking or need advice on their feet, book in with one of our podiatrists today.
